Seeking Accountability?

From the January edition of The Writer's Life

Accountability groups help their members focus their individual goals on a weekly basis and hold each person accountable for their own success – with friendly encouragement from the group. Now that a brand new year has begun, you may be wondering how to get involved with an accountability group.

Here are two local options:

  1. San Diego Writers, Ink is offering an online accountability group called Write Now! Led by Sandra Millers Younger, the cost is $100 a month for members or $125 for nonmembers. To learn more or sign up, see
  2. Newsletter Editor Laura Roberts hosts bi-weekly in-person accountability events, meeting Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble in Trolley Square (Santee). Attendance is free, though purchase of a snack or beverage at the café is encouraged. Drop in to share your New Year's goals (or learn how to set some!) at our next meeting on January 20. Unable to attend in person? Email Laura at for more information on how to join the Facebook group for additional support and encouragement.
