The La Jolla Art and Wine Festival to be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7 and 8, on Girard Ave. Its purpose: to bring our artists' roots back to La Jolla, to celebrate our wonderful community, and to raise money for underfunded programs such as art, music, science, physical education, and technology, at the local public elementary and middle schools.
The festival focuses primarily on visual arts, and one of SDWEG's member, Peggy Hinaekian, will be at booth No. 408 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with her art. She will also exhibit her book, Of Julia and Men, which includes copies of her artwork.
If you are in La Jolla on either Saturday or Sunday, look for Peggy. Her booth is close to Prospect St.
The event is free to attend. For those who discover something to pick up, ATMs will be on Girard, and credit cards are accepted at the Silent Auction and Wine & Beer Garden.
