SD/PEN is pleased to announce two upcoming workshops in October.
On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, Dr. Malini Devadas will present “Setting Your Freelance Rates: How to Change Your Mindset and Earn More Money.” Dr. Devadas will explore the mindset editors need to take the steps to earn their desired income.
On Saturday, October 17, 2020, Adrienne Montgomerie will present “Secrets of PDF Markup.” Montgomerie will teach the tools, hacks, and best practices for Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader app that allows editors to cut their time dramatically when correcting page proofs, presentations, and multimedia apps.
Dr. Malini Devadas completed a PhD in neuroscience and worked in medical research before realizing she enjoyed writing more than lab work. She began her editing career in 2004, and later set up her own editing/writing and coaching business in 2013. She currently works as a mindset coach to help editors increase their income by valuing their own skills and taking marketing action.
Adrienne Montgomerie is a certified copyeditor who has been editing on-screen since 1997 for Canada's largest publishers and international organizations. She teaches all stages of editing at three universities and has authored several books including Editing in Word and Getting the Numbers Right. She is known online as SciEditor.
The cost for members is $20 per workshop or $30 for both, and the cost for nonmembers is $35 for one workshop or $55 for both.
