San Diego Writer's, Ink's A Year in Ink, Vol 13 is still open for submissions but only until midnight, Monday, August 12. Carrie Danielson, host of Dime Stories among other literary endeavors, is editor this year, which bodes well for another excellent collection. Find out more here. PS: DimeStories is set for this Friday, August 9. That's TONIGHT! More info. Judy's old pal and Guild member, Josh Baxt, author of Endless Blue Sky, is guest host.
. . . and more submission opportunities: Check out The 2019 Kowit Poetry Prize for which Judy will be one of the judges. First prize is $1000! Other cash prizes, too. The Kowit honors our beloved Steve Kowit's contribution to American poetry and in that spirit, any poet anywhere is invited to submit their work. Submissions are open through October 15. Find out more here.
. . . and while you're on the San Diego Poetry Annual website, check out submission guidelines for the 2020 Poetry Annual. You'll also find listings of where local readings are happening for the 2018-19 Annual. There are still several to attend or participate in, including one on Saturday, Nov. 2 at San Diego Writers, Ink, which will honor National Beat Poet Laureate San Diego's own Chris Vannoy.
Thanks, Judy, for spreading the word to the San Diego writing community.
